Margate is one of Kent’s best-known seaside towns, with beaches, bars, independent shops, galleries, restaurants and cultural attractions close to the festival area.

Margate sits on the Kent coast and is easy to reach by train, car and coach. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and use public transport or shared travel where possible to reduce congestion around the town during the festival weekend.
BY TRAIN.
Margate railway station is one of the easiest ways to arrive for the Weekender. The station is a short walk from the seafront, Dreamland, the town centre and many of the main festival areas. As a guide, Margate Main Sands is around a 5-minute walk from Margate Station. Services run from London St Pancras, London Victoria and other parts of Kent, with Southeastern High Speed services to Margate from London St Pancras taking around 90 minutes. - Please check current train times before travelling, especially if you are arriving late or returning after evening events.
BY CAR.
If you are driving to Margate, please plan your journey in advance and allow extra time for coastal traffic, parking and local road conditions. For many visitors travelling from London, the South East or wider Kent, the main approach is usually via the M2 / A299 Thanet Way, before joining routes into Margate such as the A28. Traffic can be heavier during summer weekends and event periods, so please leave extra time for the final part of your journey.
GETTING AROUND.
Margate and the wider Thanet area offer hotels, guest houses, apartments and B&Bs. Accommodation close to the festival area is likely to book quickly, so visitors should reserve rooms early. Nearby towns such as Broadstairs and Ramsgate may also be useful options.
Where to Stay.
Once you have arrived, walking, taxis and local buses are often the easiest way to move between accommodation, venues, restaurants, bars and afterparties. Please leave enough time between events, especially during peak periods.
